Leftover French Bread French Toast

After a day or two, French bread gets too hard to eat—which makes it perfect for French Toast. Here’s what you do:

Slice bread into 1 ¼” to 1 ½ “ pieces.

This recipe is for 4 slices (two people)

Place in large bowl and whip well (make sure no yellow streaks):

2 eggs

¾ to 1 cup of milk

2 teaspoons of sugar

1 to 2 teaspoons of vanilla

Place bread in a tray with raised sides. Poor mixture over bread and then flip over a couple of times to coat bread good. Let soak.

Combine 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil and heat in skillet.

Use tongs to place bread in skillet and cook each side on medium heat 3 to 4 minutes (DON’T BURN)

Remove with tongs and sprinkle top side with powered sugar.

Serve with whip cream and syrup and fresh fruit.

Add a side of sausage or ham or bacon

Coffee goes well with it too
